Belén Olmedo Menchén

Born in Spain in 1986, Belén Olmedo Menchén has been involved in artistic activities since she was very young. After graduating from high school, she began a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences at the University Rey Juan Carlos (UJC) but soon realized that she was destined for the fine arts. In 2011 she graduated from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) with a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts.

Alongside her Fine Arts studies and guided by her artistic interests, she was the lead singer and songwriter of the musical band Sundayers from 2006 to 2013.

In 2009 she was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to study at the Université Michel de Montaigne de Bordeaux in France. There she focused on video art, photo editing, and performance.

Despite not having a degree in Fine Arts, she began to participate in different art exhibitions, such as the Ateneo de Madrid (2015), the Santa Eulalia Cultural Centre in Ibiza, the Carmen Conde Cultural Centre (Majadahonda, Madrid), and the Women’s Art Club at the Eurobuilding NH property. Today she still participates in the most renewed art exhibition on a national scale.

Later, in 2012, she completed a degree in Art Education at the University of Alcalá (UAH), Madrid. In 2013, she completed a course in Digital Animation at the College of Art, University of Edinburgh, and in 2022, a Master’s in Motion Graphics and Creativity at the CICE School.

Before finally moving into film and commercial production, she was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Education, where she oversaw all aspects of design, content, and evaluation of all materials before their release to the public.

This last experience has helped her make a name for herself, as in 2016 she had the opportunity to work for Heart Ibiza (Adria’s Brother chef and Cirque du Soleil) as a graphic designer and multimedia content manager.
